Introduction to Interior Design: Sophomore Year Coursework Fall 2017, ID 2785 - Computer Visualization, is computer drafting and three- dimensional modeling for spatial designers. It introduced basic Revit skills that were performed through an instructional textbook.
Fall 2017, ID 2781 - Interior Design Graphics, involved graphic representation methods that were used to illustrate and investigate form, spatial order and the design process.
Fall 2017, ID 2774 - Interior Construction and Systems, building systems and construction methods; code requirements for interiors. One project was building a basic construction model.

Sophomore Year Studio: Spring 2018, ID 2750 - Interior Design Studio I, basic design problems in the built environment; emphasis on design process, form and principles of spatial organization. - Focused on developing a grocery store for the 2018 RDI Student Competition as the final project, which was one of the first large projects completed. Students were placed in groups to redesign an assigned local grocery store. We also used the bookInvisible cities by Italo Calvino ,to work on creating an imaginary city.
Junior Year Studio: Fall 2018, ID 3752 - Interior Design Studio III, includes the formulation of design concept/ image; design implications of function, space and scale. Required field trip. Responsible for paying travel expenses associated with the course. Fall 2018 focused on Healthcare design, specifically ambulatory surgical centers. - Studio is group project based, where our class was assigned into pairs weekly to design different spaces of an ambulatory surgical center leading to the 18' IIDA student competition we are working on.
Spring 2019, ID 3753 - Interior Design Studio IV, is design development of interior environments. - This course also focused on Healthcare design. The first weeks of class were spent focusing on a sense of development. This led to a project that represented my ideal imaginative meditation space. "Alma" translating to "lift's the spirit" is the name of my meditation space. I focused on incorporating both the indoors and outdoors, making my space have a two-in-one feel. The process used in "Alma" then led to the research of illnesses associated with behavioral health. - We are designing a behavioral health facility in Mandeville, Louisiana; Northlake Behavioral Health System, where we had the opportunity to tour the facility and ask the staff questions. Weeks prior to our visit were spent on research to better understand illnesses associated with behavioral health and the purpose of the facilities.
Junior Year Coursework: Fall 2018, ID 4741 - History of Interior Design, focused on the development of interior design; decoration and furnishings throughout history; examining design as an expression of cultural values and its social, industrial and technological influences.
Fall 2018, ID 3782 - Interior Design Construction Documents, was the development of construction documents for interior projects; design and documentation of interior architectural details.
Fall 2018, ID 4761 - Professional Practice, entering the profession; interior design business practices; ethics and project management.
Spring 2019, ARCH 2008 - History of Architecture II, the development of architectural and spatial forms as they relate to changing perceptions of self, society and the natural world from the Italian Renaissance through modern times.
Spring 2019, ID 4742 - Interior Design Contemporary Issues and Theory, research, discussions and presentations related to the contemporary issues in interior design. Spring 2019, ID 4720 - Seminar in Interior Design, is the culmination of your formal Interior Design education in the LSU School of Interior Design. The course consists of lectures, presentations, informal discussions, individual critiques, peer reviews, group critiques, field trips, self-assessment, and reflection. It is a two-semester undertaking, beginning in ID 4720 and concluding in ID 4754 Interior Design Studio V.
Senior Year Coursework: Fall 2019, ID 4765- Professional Residency, an internship with a local Baton Rouge, LA residential firm and high-end decorations business that exposed learning in residential interior design and how to run a business as well as communicating with clients, photographers, and representatives.
Senior Year Studio: Spring 2020, ID 4754 - Interior Design Studio V, focuses on the design process and the resolution of an independent project. The project is the demonstration of the students' ability to synthesize and integrate the knowledge and skills learned in all their professional coursework. The senior design thesis book is the most inclusive document they will produce in the program. The senior studio includes the expectation that a fully developed comprehensive project will evolve.
LSU School of Interior Design - School Trips
Dallas, Texas: Spring 2018 Three day trip, Visited the IIDA Conference. I was able to visit several design firms and get a glimpse of potential jobs that were involved as a design major. New York, New York: Fall 2018 Three day trip, had the opportunity to visit commercial interior design firms, as well as a lighting firm- which was an eye opening experience to help me have a better understanding of jobs in the field. I was fortunate to visit HOK, New York's ranked third architecture- firm where the class was able to have a tour of the work spaces, and materials library. In my Junior studio, we are learning healthcare design and are currently working on designing an ambulatory surgical center. Upon visiting HOK, the class toured the New York Presbyterian David H. Koch Center. The tour helped me visualize a successful design to further my skills and apply them to my studio class.
